Speakers' Speech Writing Contest
The Speakers of the Senate and House of Commons have launched a speech writing competition for Canadians aged 12 to 17. The contest asks, "What does Parliament mean to you? Participate by submitting a written speech through the contest webpage (the links are below). Six finalists will win an all-expenses paid trip to Ottawa in June 2017 where they will have an opportunity to meet the Speakers. The contest closes April 21, 2017.

Royal Canadian Legion Public Speaking Contest
If you have a passion for public speaking consider competing in the Royal Canadian Legion's annual public speaking contest. Entry forms can be obtained in rm 107. Names have to be submitted by Wednesday, Feb. 22 so come by rm 107 as soon as possible.
